Anthony McGill is the principal Clarinetist of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and has quickly earned the reputation of being one of classical music's finest solo, chamber and orchestral musicians. Before joining the MET orchestra in 2004, Anthony served as associate principal clarinet of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra for four years. He has also collaborated with other well known performers such as Yo-Yo Ma, Lang Lang, Yefim Bronfam and Gil Shaham, as well as world-renown string quartets including the Miami, Tokyo, Guarneri, Shanghai and Mir Quartets.
Mr. McGill attended the Interlochen Arts Academy and the Curtis Institute of Music. In high demand as a teacher, he currently serves on the faculties of the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins Univeristy, Mannes College of Music and the Manhattan School of Music Precollege.
